Vernon Morrow Memoriam

Vernon Cleve Morrow, beloved husband, father, brother and uncle left this world at midnight on December 3, 2011. He was born on September 19, 1933 on a farm in Cass County, North Dakota about three miles from a small town called Amenia. Vernon was the son of the late William Cleveland and Lydia Carlson Morrow. To his friends and family he was know as 'Sonny'. Vernon was a proud life member of the Disabled American Veterans, The Retired Enlisted Association and the Air Force Sergeants Association. Vernon served as a Search and Destroy Specialist in Korea and Vietnam. After his Army tours, he entered the United States Air Force serving in Germany, North Africa, Spain and Italy and later came to NORAD before retiring. After his military career, he joined the United States Postal Service in Colorado Springs, CO. Those who were blessed to know him will always remember his warmth, kindness, sense of humor and his radiant smile. Juanita, his wife of 47 years, a son Ryan Cleve, a daughter Heidi Morrow-Hahn, and son-in-law William Hahn Jr, survive him. He is also survived by sisters; Carol M. Cannon (Jay D; deceased) of Indian Trail, NC, Valerie Deal (Charles) of Hickory NC, Gail Florence Brainerd (Jim), of Tallahassee, FL. Sister Ruth Adele preceded him in death. A military service with honors will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Pavilion A, Thursday, December 15 at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MaxFund Animal Wellness Center at 1000 Inca St. Denver, CO 80204, to Pikes Peak Hospice or Disabled American Veterans. Vern was my supervisor at norad 1971 -1972. As always his saying, Cher up put a smile on your face, it’s not the end of the world, that’s tomorrow. Really a great guy. Never gave me a hard time for my hair over my ears. Been 48 years and still think of him. Should have stopped and said hi as he only lived 2 blocks from my future wife. Rest In Peace Vern.
