Vi Hamann Obituary

Vi Hamann fought the good fight for over 5 years against Fallopian Tube/Ovarian cancer and was called home to a well deserved rest on October 20, 2014.

Violet Marie Olson was born to Earl & Helen Olson on July 17, 1935 in Plankinton, SD. In 1985 she married Tom Hamann and moved to Davenport, North Dakota.

She developed Breast cancer in 1988 and moved to Colorado Springs to live with her youngest daughter Robin until her death.

While in Colorado Springs, Vi worked for US Research but of all the occupations in Vi's life, being a mother to her 5 children was her most beloved and cherished. In February 2009, Vi was diagnosed with Fallopian Tube/Ovarian cancer.

Vi is survived by her three daughters, Merri Nolz of Sioux Falls, SD, Melody (Craig), Croletto of Livonia, MI and Robin Cox of Colorado Springs; two grandsons, Cody and Chase Croletto of Livonia, MI; a brother, Robert (Roxy) Olson of Surprise, AZ; a sister, Donna VanDenOever of Mitchell; nieces and nephews as well as many, close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Helen Olson, and 2 sons, Michael and Jeffrey Cox.

Vi, being the consummate giver she was, donated her remains to the Anatomical Board of the State of Colorado University of Colorado Health and Science Center.

A Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, November 1 at Evergreen Funeral Home on Fountain Boulevard starting at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations in Vi's name may be made to the Humane Society of Pikes Peak.
