Vickie Tapia Obituary
Vickie passed away on Monday October 21st in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Vickie, 45, was a devout Christian, wife, mother, and friend. She loved being outdoors, reading, writing, spending time with her family, and sharing her faith and love of God.
Vickie is survived by her husband Michael Tapia with whom she shared 32 years; along with their five children Monique (John), Angela (Timothy), Michael (Brenda), Mirissa, and Crystal, and grandchildren Timothy, Samuel, and Olivia.
Vickie had many wonderful people in her life that include her father Vincent (Glenda), father-in-law Ralph, siblings Tony, Renee, Eddie, and Vincent, sister-in-law Diane, and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly.
Vickie shared with each of us her knowledge and faith in the Lord. It is her heart that we all hold fast to God's word and trust in His plan knowing that one day we will unite in eternity.
Viewing: Sunday October 27th from 2-4pm at Evergreen Funeral Home 1830 East Fountain Boulevard, 80910.
Services: Monday October 28th at 1pm at Calvary Worship Center located 501 Castle Road, 80904. Reception to follow.

I have been trying to avoid this time of year...For the rest of my life Oct. 21st is a day I will dread. That's the day I lost my mommy. I tried to hide from it but I know that it will always come. The leaves changing, the sun shining and the cool autumn weather is just a bad reminder of everything that happened. I can't believe it has been a year. I miss you everyday mom. It hurts me so much not being able to call you when I need your recipes or taking you window shopping. It tears me apart knowing that you won't be there when I get married or have kids. I know you're looking down on me and I know you're proud of who I'm becoming (in Christ). But you are the one who raised me to know Him. Because of my faith I know where you are and it brings me some peace. Even with faith there is a huge empty place in my heart. I love you so much and I can't wait for eternity. Until then....

Dear, Beautiful Vickie, I met you over 30 years ago and have loved you ever since....My prayers and love go out to our family as the grief is so overwhelming and I ask you Lord to surround all with your comfort & strength. You are in your glory now Sis, shining brightly and rejoicing with the Angels. That part is glorious to think of...Those left behind will always just long for one more moment with you , one more hug, one more smile, one more opportunity to share something. We will miss you & love you always...until we meet again!

Didn't have the opportunity to meet this young lady in person but we definitely connected in the Spirit. She befriended me on FB a while back and from reading her posts/status I know she had a heart for God and her family/friends. She will be missed by many.
