Vincent H. "Ben" Chase was born in 1941 to Charles E. and Virginia Vincent Chase.
He was predeceased by his mother and father and is survived by his wife, Nancy with whom he shared many devoted and happy years; his sons and stepdaughter: Andrew (Cathy) Chase, David (Nichol) Chase, Michael (Lisa) Chase, Christy (Jerry) Sleater; granddaughters Noe and Eme Chase, and step-granddaughter Moon Sleater; his brother Charles E. "Skip" (Connie) Chase; brother-in-law Bruce (Vicki) Claycombe; many family members and friends across the country, and his best buddy Barnabas.
Ben graduated from Portage High School (Kalamazoo, MI) and the University of Colorado (Boulder, CO) where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Ben was a member of several local clubs and organizations in which he heartily participated. He enjoyed playing poker and gin rummy, gardening, reading, sports, and the joy in the faces of kids to whom he gave golden dollars and the smiles of surprise when he gave adults $2 bills. Ben will be remembered for his outgoing warm personality and making everyone feel singularly special.
The family asks that you remember Ben by phoning your dear ones.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
