Viola Rawe Obituary

Viola L. Rawe, 85, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away on October 12, 2005 in Colorado Springs. She had been a dedicated RN for over 40 years of service. She was one of the original members of the first graduating class of the Duesquane University School of Nursing in Pittsburg, PA. She was employed as an Instructor of Nursing at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg, The Tuberculosis Recovery Center at Cragmore (Colorado Springs), and Penrose Main Hospital as Assistant Head Nurse. She was very active with the Senior Center of Colorado Springs where she enjoyed Asian Art and Water Color classes with her many friends. She is survived by her two sons: David Rawe of Calhan, CO. and Michael Rawe of Front Royal, VA; great-grandson, Dillon of Leadville, CO; great-granddaughter, Jasmine of Colorado Springs; grandson, Steven French of Colorado Springs; and sister, Bernice Neumeyer of Dover, Ohio. She was a devoted Catholic. Memorial Service will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3122 Poinsette Dr. October 20, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association.
