Virginia Stines Obituary

Virginia Ernestine Stines passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2014. Virginia was born to Ernest and Bernice Martinez, June 16, 1958, in Trinidad, Colorado.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Patrick Stines, two daughters, Tina Stines and Patricia (Stines) Cochran, son Julian Stines, and granddaughter, Kaylee Cochran.

Her strong will to live, un-wavering faith in God, devotion to her family, friends, and many supporters carried her through her 22 year battle with Lupus. She always put others needs before her own and her courageous fight with her illness was an inspiration to all who were fortunate to have known her. Her selfless service to family and friends will always be remembered and greatly missed. She will forever be fondly remembered for her love of Elvis and pet companion Molly.

There will be a memorial service with a rosary held at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 4925 North Carefree Cir, Colorado Springs, on Friday March 7th at 11 AM.

A contagious laugh and a smile so bright

You were so beautiful in everyone's sight

The number of lives you touched was so great

How the day I will see you again I long to await

My heart aches in loneliness and pain

But yet in my heart you do remain

Cherished are the memories I have of you

Oh how I wish this were not true

But as stars will continue to shine and the moon will glow

My love for you will always show

An angel came down and took you by the hand

It may be many years until we understand

You were flown to heaven

And now your eternal life with God has begun

I love you with all my heart your daughter.

Virginia,
Thanks for those wonderful memories. When we talk we would laugh and cry together and think about the wonderful time we shared. I will miss you dearly and hold you close to my heart. What moves through us is silence, a quite sadness a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch. We may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye but little by little we begin to remember that you've not died, but that you have lived and that your life gave us memories to beautiful to forget. You will always be loved and rememberd , I will hold you in my heart. I love you my friend. Lillian Lucero

Auntie, you will be greatly missed! You have touched so many peoples lives, and with that no one could ever forget. You were someone's best friend, someone to talk to, someone's aunt, wife, sister, sister in law, and mom! Whatever you were to them, you impacted their lives by simply giving your love. That love just came out naturally to those that were close to you. We all will miss you, but know that you're in the place you wanted to be, that's with heavens angels!! Love you! And god bless!
