Virginia Taber Obituary

Virginia Cordina Taber passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at Pikes Peak Hospice after a long battle with lung cancer. Virginia was a Colorado Springs native and a graduate of Colorado Springs High School, now Palmer. She was born August 24, 1923 to the union of Harvey D. and Lola M. (Nichols) Evers. Her parents preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were husbands Gilbert L. Blasczynski and Alfred L. Taber. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, son: Richard T. (Debbie) Varner of Pahrump, NV; daughters: Suzanne M. (William ³Bill²) Cordova and Karol J. Blasczynski, both of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by granddaughters: Julie Varner of Pasadena, CA; Vicki Varner of Chandler, AZ; grandson: Zachary Blaszczynski, and sister: Glenna Martinez, both of Colorado Springs, and numerous nieces and nephews. Virginia was a very loving mother and grandmother. She worked as a secretary in the medical, legal and insurance field for over 25 years. She was a member of VFW Post 4051. She loved working her crossword puzzles, feeding her hundreds of little birds and pigeons, and any other animals that came into her yard. As a young woman, she loved to tap dance at the old Chief Theatre and was a drummer in a ladies band. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10, 2006 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel of Roses. Friends may call one hour prior to the services in the Chapel. Entombment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven. Mom, we love and will miss you so much, but we know we will see you on the other side someday!
