Walter and JoAnn then moved back to Colorado Springs, where he worked for Alexander Film Co. He then began work with Skidmore, Merrill and Owen's, who designed the Air Force Academy. He then worked with Walt Langbartel Mechanical Consulting Engineering, which did work at Petersen Air Force Base, Norad, and many other project throughout Colorado Springs. The company is in its 45th year and has done many building projects in Colorado Springs, Denver, Pueblo and other cities within Colorado.

Walter & JoAnn also loved to travel and enjoyed the many cruises with friends and family. There favorite was the Capitols of Europe. Walter also loved fishing, he was an avid bowler, he also enjoyed watching his favorite football teams, the Steelers and Broncos. He like going to Cripple Creek and playing his Blazing 7 machines. His favorite hobby was making stain glass. He made many beautiful pieces, often making things from just a picture. His favorite thing to make were religious pieces. He was also quite a story teller, he loved to talk with people. If you ever need anything, he was alway there willing to help. He had a strong faith in his Lord and Savior, which he and his wife said helped guide them through their life together.

He was a member of Rock of Ages Lutheran Church. He also was a previous member and Elder at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He will be sorely missed by his wife, son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren and relatives, and many friends.

We are so sorry for the loss of Uncle Wally! He will be missed! Jackie´s favorite memory is dancing the polka with Uncle Wally. We could really go fast! Scott´s favorite memory is the summer he worked doing plumbing with Uncle Wally, and he taught Scott the proper way to solder, which he still uses to this day.
