Walter Watts Obituary

How do you begin to write a tribute to one of the finest men God ever placed on this earth? Well, I'm going to try. For 45 years Dr. Watts took care of our family, our sons Mark and Steve from the time they were young through adulthood as well as our grandson Josh. We always knew that no matter what the circumstances were that brought us to his office, as soon as he walked in to the room, we were in his kind, gentle, and loving hands. Dr. Watts will be remembered in this way by several generations of people whose lives he touched, but we will also remember him as a mentor, friend, and a man with a rare quality not found often, integrity. Walter was a class mate of mine at Kirksville. It is so heart warming to read about him and his practice. He was an astute student and made a great physician. Truly fantastic to read what a wonderful life he lived. A tribute to our profession.

My condolences to all the Watts family members. Walt was my father's step-brother and growing up in the 50's I knew him as uncle Walt. I'm sad to hear of his passing.

It is hard to find the words to describe how much Dr. Watts meant to our family. He was one of the kindest and most caring people we have ever known. He was not only an outstanding physician, but more importantly an outstanding human being. We miss him greatly. All our prayers go out to his loving family.

My family new Dr.Watts for a very long time. He was my moms doctor when she was little. He took care of my grandma before she died. He was my whole families doctor,my dad and my mom and me. He also saved my step mothers life when she was 4 she was very sick he helped he get better. He was a great Doctor and a loving person. We will all miss him and hope to see him soon.

Dr. Watts delivered my babies over 30 years ago. He had been by doctor since then. He knew my family by name and I always felt better after seeing him. I felt he and his office staff were like family. I know he will be greatly missed. I am a better person to have known him. God Bless.

Hello all;

Not many of you really knew me in my past life - but there are a few of you out there in Security who may have known me.
A family friend of mine passed a couple of days ago, and although I have lost contact with the Watt's some 30 years ago, I know that some of you good folks out there have known and loved Dr. Walter Watts in your lifetime.
He was, as I knew him, a good and righteous man. He was the Bird family family doctor for many years, and my friend David Watt's dad. He was a kind, caring, and personable man - a man whom I have always held a great deal of respect for.
He will be sorely missed.
My mom Janet Bird, described him as the closest thing that she found to a brother once my dear Uncle Bill passed unexpectedly and way too young so many years ago.
Goodbye Walter. You were loved.

Life in the Widefield Congregation won't ever be the same, without Walter's smiling face and loving attention. My sympathies to Janet and the rest of the Watts family. I can't wait to have us all be there to see him come back. May it be SOON!!!

Dr. Watts was not only the most compassionate doctor I have ever known but one of the kindest most loving people I was blessed to know. My family was always taken care of both physically and emotionally. He always made them feel safe and special. Thank God for people like Dr. Watts. My prayers for him and his family. Finding very hard to see what I'm typing as tears keep blurring the page... As a patient for my Family and me, the sound of his name or voice in the halls of practice; meant all will be ok and a assurance I was in the best of care anyone would want to be in. Having traveled the World( Navy ) , I can say there isn't another person that shares the title of AMAZING. (Blurry words again).. I'am very sad that God took without letting us say goodbye but, I say to you in my prayers , thank you.... Thank You so much for being there always! I had the honor of working for Dr. Watts for 12 years. The first time I meet him he was in his office relaxing, He said to me " I enjoy my work but I don't want to work to hard any more, and not sure how much longer I will work before I retire." Well that was 20 years ago and even though he did slow down for last few years he never did retire. We also had many great talks about GOD and the Bible. He taught me a great deal no matter what we were doing; as his nurse, office manager or billing clerk; he always was a great mentor for us all. As many has said he was not only our Doctor, he was our friend and will be missed more than can be imagined. Janet and all if there is anything I can do please call. Doctor Watts is one amazing person and healer. He was my doctor for 30 plus years until I moved to Texas last July. He will remain as one of my best memories in Colorado. He will be missed by me and all of those lives he touched. My deepest sympathy to his family. Rest now Doctor Watts, job well done.

Dr.Watts was an incredable man. He was not only my familys doctor for many years but a friend ,a mentor and one of our greatest blessings in life. It breaks my heart to hear the loss of Dr. Watts. He was a man who was born to be a doctor, a true healer of the body and soul. You could always expect a great conversation as well as a laugh with every appointment with Dr Watts. But he was more than just a doctor, he was a friend to all. I am so proud to know I had one of the greatest doctors taking care of myself and my family for mulitple generations. Thank you Dr Watts for showing us what it takes to be someone great! There will never be a man like you again (or Doctor for that matter!) We will all miss you forever!

This man was a true angel. He saved my fathers life time and time again especially these last couple yrs. He gave me hope when there seemed to be none. I was never able to truly thank him but it was an honor to know him. Sorry for your loss.
