Warren Wignall Obituary

Warren Wignall, age 88, longtime Marshalltown, Iowa resident, passed away Thursday, January 7th, 2010 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Warren was born May 11, 1921 in Worth County, Iowa. He was the youngest of eight children born to William and Ora Belle (Walker) Wignall. He grew up working on their family and neighboring farms while attending school. On June 1, 1943 Warren was married to Marcella Ann Schubert in Northwood, Iowa and had one daughter Sharon. Warren's earliest vocation was managing the produce section of a neighborhood grocery store, and enjoyed delivering special orders to customers in Marshall County. Warren worked the majority of his career for Pabst Blue Ribbon Distributors, as a cross country truck driver and later as their local public relations representative. Warren was a proud member of The Marshalltown Men's Chorus, where he made lasting friendships. He loved being a part of the musical productions, particularly the annual Christmas Cantata. He shared his great sense of humor while bowling, fishing, playing cards, and socializing. Warren and Marcella were long time members of The First United Methodist Church. In 2003, Warren and Marcella moved from Marshalltown, Iowa to Santa Fe, New Mexico to live with their daughter. Later they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado to be near extended family. While in Colorado Springs he had many good times with his family. He attended Wilson United Methodist Church and sang in their choir. Warren enjoyed the camaraderie with his many friends at the Senior Center where he ate lunch and spent many afternoons playing cribbage or poker. Warren will be loved and remembered by his daughter Sharon A. Wignall, two grand children M. Scott Gallentine and Julie A. Eick and five great grand children Crystal, Ben, Cameron, Hart and Brian all in Colorado Springs area. He also has many dear friends and other relatives in Colorado, Iowa and other mid-western states.
