Wayne Albright Obituary

Reverend Wayne L. Albright, 65, Topeka, went to kneel in the presence of his Lord, Jesus, on Fri., Feb. 27, 2009, at Midland Hospice House. He was born May 1, 1943, at Oregon, IL, the son of Wayne L. and Johanna A. A. (Meier) Albright. He was a graduate of Nazarene Bible College and was a minister in the Church of the Nazarene for over 35 years serving churches in Woodland Park, CO, Junction City, KS, McPherson, KS, and others. Wayne was married to Dee Wilsey on July 27, 1963, at Linden, MI. Surviving are his wife, Dee; 2 daughters: Traci Carson (Ron) and Tam Sorrell (Jerry), all of Topeka; his mother; siblings: Suzette Jordan (David), Gerald Albright (Debbie), Stephanie Reble (David), and Roger Albright; 3 grandchildren: Melanie Sorrell, Justin Sorrell, and Maddie Carson; granddog: Simon Sorrell; 2 grandcats: Michael & Garfield Carson; uncles; aunts: cousins; nieces; and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; and in-laws: Willard and Goldie Wilsey. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Wed., March 4, 2009, at Wanamaker Woods Church of the Nazarene. Interment in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Rev. Albright will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Tues., at Dove Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Dee and family, We are so sorry to here about Wayne Larry. He will be missed greatly but he will never have to hurt for another breath. He has always been an angel to us, afterall he preached my Daddy's funeral. We were so happy that for a short time he was our pastor in Woodland Park. I know God will be your strength and your peace. Can't you just see Uncle Wayne, Wayne Larry and my Dad singing in heaven. A very sad day for us but a great day for our loved ones in heaven.

Pastor Albright married my husband and I over 20 years ago. Dee, we worked together at First National Bank in JC for a short time. He will be remembered by my husband Alan and I fondly. I enjoyed his jovial nature and his laid-back ways. You are in our prayers
