Dorothy,
Please accept my deepest sympathies for you and your family. I will always cherish the memories of spending time with you both and am so grateful that you were both able to be at my second graduation party.
Mr. Kelly, (Kell, as I would later address him), was my HS counselor while I attended Doherty HS in 1980. I was a troubled youth and he spent many patient hours with me, guiding me and listening to my rants in my youth.
30 some odd years later, I found him again and we spent many weekends sharing cigars and talking about our lives. He still counselled me and became my mentor. Many were the times when I would call him and seek his counsel about a situation I was facing. My dear old friend Kell was always willing to take my calls and stay on the phone as long as was needed. Dorothy was also patient and graciously suffered my calls even when I called late.
I will miss you more that I am able to express in writing, Kell. You were patient. You were kind. You were a man's man, but not without flaws. You werejust like all of your studentsan individual looking to find your way. And that's why I loved you so much.
Rest in peace, my dear friend, Kell.
You made a tremendous impact in my life, and certainly in the lives of countless others. You often lamented to me in our private talks about the mistakes you made in life; but in my opinion, you lived a life well lived. I will miss you dearly my old friend. Rest in Peace.

Losing Wayne is indeed a loss for all of us. Wayne was a loving and caring person whose students always came first. I am proud to have worked with him.

I am so sorry to learn of Wayne's death and fondly remember our days as colleagues at Doherty H.S. He was one of the finest counselors I ever worked with and know that his family and friends will greatly miss him.
