Wilbur Powell Obituary

Wilbur "Bill" C. Powell, 88 of Colorado Springs, CO. departed this life on December 26, 2014. Husband and father of three children, Bill faithfully served his country in WWII and Korea in the United States Navy before relocating to Colorado Springs in the early 1960's to continue work as a Yeoman at ENT Air Force Base.

Bill was a Master Freemason and Scottish Rite Mason in El Paso County. Among his many hobbies, Bill will also be

remembered as a champion of the lost art of homing-pigeon racing and charter member of one of the only remaining organizations in the Nation.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Magdalene Powell, sons Kenneth (Teresa) and Martin (Jamie) Powell, step-Daughters Anita (Richard) Riley and Lisa (Ken) Musick, Brother Wesley Powell, Sister Wilma Powell, Sister Darlene (Powell) Schultz as well as many cherished Grandchildren and Great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his Daughter Kathleen (Powell) Martin, Sister Dolores (Powell) Bacon and Brother Darrell Powell.

A Visitation will be held, Friday, January 2, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services to follow at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, located at 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO. 80910.

Burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO at 2:30 p.m.
