Wiley Reynolds Obituary

Wiley Richard Reynolds died November 29, at home surrounded by his family. He was a 50 year part-time resident of Colorado Springs; a graduate of Hotchkiss school and Yale University. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He enjoyed trout fishing, golf, good humor and was an amateur geologist and meteorologist. Wiley held a commercial pilot's license with instrument, multi-engine and seaplane ratings. He was President and Chairman of the Board of the First National Bank in Palm Beach and was a director of six other Florida banks. He was active in many charitable organizations including a founding board member of Adopt-a-Family, a director of the Good Samaritan Hospital, Palm Beach Day School and The Rehabilitation Center for Children and Adults. He served as Country Director in the International Executive Service Corps, living in the Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Turkey. He is survived by his wife, Janet, of 63 years; his four children: Wiley R. Reynolds III, Suzanne Reynolds Bennison, Dr. Judith U. Reynolds, and Thomas H. Reynolds;  his grandchildren: Philip Reynolds, Christina Bennison, Juliana Bennison, Wiley Reynolds Jr. and Celene Reynolds; and great-grandchild Finn Reynolds. A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 2, 2005 at Grace Episcopal Church, 601 N. Tejon, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to Pikes Peak Hospice, Penrose Hospital or the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.
