Willard Howe Obituary

Howe
Willard "Buzz" Howe
November 9, 1930 - September 18, 2017
Willard "Buzz" Howe, 86, left this earth to join the Lord on September 18, 2017 with his wife and daughters at his side. He was born in Frankfort, Indiana to Willard D. Howe and Beulah (Howe) Rickard. He was a devoted husband, father, son, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many who adored his charm, humor, and quick wit. He will be deeply missed today, tomorrow, and forever.
Buzz graduated from Massillon High School in Massillon, Ohio in 1948. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, and then went on to be a business owner and salesman. He was a longtime resident of Colorado. He married Ilene (Tofte) in 1961 and they had four children together.
He is survived by his wife; son, Eric; and daughters, Debby (Don) Rohrer, Linda (Eddy) Schmidt, and Lori (Curt) Wilson. He loved his thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren with all his heart. He also is survived by his brothers, Jerry and Jim Howe, and Fred Cummings.
Buzz was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Auriela; and his brother, Bob.
Buzz was very active throughout his life in sports. He especially enjoyed golfing, and shared his passion with his children, son-in-laws, and grandkids. He loved the ocean and spent a lot of time fishing and looking out to sea. He enjoyed traveling and had many excursions to Mexico. He was a lifelong member of the Elks and a member of Ascension Lutheran Church. He will always be remembered, not only for his beautiful blue eyes and wonderful smile, but also for his commitment to his family, his intelligence, and his integrity.
A Celebration of Buzz's Life will be held, 1:00PM, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2505 North Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909. A reception and inurnment will follow.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Buzz's memory to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, Ascension Lutheran Church, Suncrest Hospice, or to any charity of choice.

Thank you uncle Buzz for all the years you spent watching over us while dad was at sea. Spending summers with all of you, camping, fishing and building such great memories to reflect on now.
You, Ilene and the cousins have always been there. Love you and look forward to meeting up with you in Heaven.
