Bill Ahrens, age 82, died at Liberty Heights Skilled Nursing in Colorado Springs on January 25, 2024, after a lengthy illness.
Bill is survived by his wife of 52 years, Eugenia (Jeanie), and his sons and their families: Will, Christy, Pierce, and Hayden; Jeremiah, Karen, Georgia, Hadley, Scarlett, and MaKinzie; Hogan, Dara, Sam, Cecilia, and Conner; Jacob, Daniela, and Makayla; and Nathaniel.
He is also survived by his sisters, Jacqueline Stagnolia and Carolyn (Bob) Robards, numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Bill was born in San Fernando, CA, to William George Ahrens and Mary Louise Powell.
He earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1964 and spent his entire career in his chosen field. He was employed by General Motors, Anaconda Aluminum, and Harvey Aluminum. In 1973 he became co-owner of Powell Products Inc., a small manufacturing business in Santa Barbara, CA. The business moved to Colorado Springs in 1992.
Bill's funeral will be Friday, February 16, 2024, 10:00 AM, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Monument. He will be laid to rest at Mount St. Francis Columbarium in Colorado Springs.
