No one knows the pain
I dedicate this poem to my friend Holly Arnold who lost her husband Bill to cancer last October 8. He was just 47 years old and they were married for 26 years. She has been a tremendous help to me since we met and I value her friendship very much.
To you and me that Sunday was just another day
To her she lost her husband her lover and her way
You see the cancer had him it took his precious life
And left her all alone then, his lover and his wife
He would have never left her he'd have never said goodbye
He loved his precious woman he'd have never made her cry
She held him oh so tightly as the illness took its toll
She had but just one comfort that God would take his soul
Soon her husband left her, her life and empty shell
No one knew the sadness that only she could tell
Her heart was left in tatters her spirit left in pain
No matter what the weather to her it felt like rain
So as she began her new life in solitude alone
At times she longed to listen to the ringing of her phone
A strong and stable woman she did all that she could
But loneliness was stronger than she ever thought it would
She held her head up high and lived just day by day
And asked her Heavenly Father to help her find her way
He comforted her spirit and calmed her troubled soul
And sheltered this poor woman from the devastating toll
Now she's a little stronger and better and more wise
She's actually quite stronger than she ever realized
And her Father up in heaven is doing what He said
Her husband is in Heaven he's alive and he's not dead
So pray for this young woman to be able to be strong
She never thought this heartbreak would one day come along
It could be you the next time who sits and mourns in grief
Who asks her Lord and saviour to strengthen your belief

Bill was the best son-in-law we could have asked for. He was genuine, the real thing. You couldn't ask for a more honest, hard working and fun loving person. We will miss him but we'll always love him.

To Holly and Arnold family.
I am extending my deepest sympathy to you and your family. To lose a loved one is so hard. But hard as it my be, knowing he is no longer in pain will kind of help. You have memories to keep you going and they will bring a smile to your face when you least expect it. This is a very hard and sad thing to go through. Time will be your healer but know it will not be easy or quick. I know what you are going through. I lost my husband in April this year. I Just wanted you to know a stranger is saying prayers for you and the family I have my reasons for wanting you to know that I care. And that you are not alone.

Bill was a hard working man with a giving heart. He helped us so many times. He loved his family and was a faithful, Christian example. He will be missed.
