William Ashton Obituary

William Jay Ashton, 73 years, died September 18, 2014 in Arizona.



Bill was born on April 26, 1941 in Hastings, Nebraska to Lee and Ruth Ashton. The family moved to Colorado Springs when he was six years old. He received a BS in Agriculture at CSU. After graduation, he married Judy Peterson, on August 27, 1963. Together they raised two children.



Bill served as an officer in the Marine Corps for three years. He received flight training and became a flight instructor. Later he was hired by TWA. Then he combined his love of agriculture and flying by becoming an aerial applicator. He owned and operated Hawkeye Spraying Service for 27 years in Goodland, KS. After his stroke in 2008, he and Judy moved to Peoria, AZ.



He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Judy; children: Wendy (Jim) Dodge, Burke Ashton; grandchild: Dakota Dodge; sisters: Carolyn (Gene) Cosby, Bev (Barry) Marler, Barb (Lee) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The memorial service will be held in Colorado Springs at First Presbyterian Church, 219 East Bijou Street, on November 8th at 11:00am.
