Who at Digital didn't know Bill? He was known and loved by all. Besides being a karate student of mine he and I used to go jogging during lunch around the DEC plant. He was excellent at what he did and personally helped me around my home after my surgery. We'll miss you, Bill!

I had the pleasure of working with Bill since the Digital days. I will always remember Bill as gentle and easy going. He seemed to keep trucking along and was there when I needed him on a short notice security issue or help to plan a project. He was always easy to work with. Bill was a great person and is already missed as one of the good guys.

All of the comments about Bill's kindness, constant smile, love for others and fond memories reflect what a truly special man he was. May God Bless his family. I suspect he is up there working on God's locks with a smile on his face.

For as long as I can remember at DEC/Compaq/HP
locks=Bill
and
Bill=locks.
Always there. Never a complaint when you wanted something on short notice. Just got it done. With kindness and a smile. Some small talk and a friendly word or two. You didn't just get your your day was brightened.
I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. My prayers are with him and his family.

I am very saddened. I really enjoyed working with Bill as a Johnson Controls employee at HP and as Bill's manager for several years Bill was an awesome employee and a friend. What I will remember most was Bill's unique ability to know and speak with just about everyone whom he came in daily contact with while working at both buildings--Bill always seemed to have some short positive or funny quip or just a friendly greeting and always seemed to make my days better after seing him or speaking with him. I will hold Bill closely to my thoughts and prayers and I can only hope he is sharing his quipps and greetings in Heaven and is in a much better place now. Thank you Bill for our short time on earth working together, I was blessed to have known and to work with you. Take care Bill and I pray you are now in God's hands!

The minute I saw the name "Bill Barrows" I had a clear picture of him in my mind. Bill in his navy blue coveralls carrying so much sweetness around with him. I must have really asked him for "key" help often for him to be so vivid in my memory. So so sorry for your loss. What a cool sweet guy he was. Bobbi Brown. Digital 1981-1995

We are shocked and saddened by Bill's death. I've known him since high school days. He was a good friend and helped us many times get out of a door lock jam. Doug worked with him at Digital and was a good friend to him. He was one of the kindest persons you would ever want to know. We will truly miss him.

"I knew Bill for many years through being at Digitial/Compaq/HP with him. He was probably one of the nicest guys I ever met. I'm sure everyone still in this building would concur with that sentiment. My deepest sympathies go to his family. I'm in complete shock at the news."

I knew Mr. Barrows in the early 90's. I was one of his Instructors in Chinese Kempo-Karate. Bill was a nice smiley-faced man. He had had prior martial arts training. He sometimes struggled with the complexities of our hand to hand self defense or our forms but he delighted in sparring with me. Bill was taller than I and knew how to use his reach advantage effectively. I'll always remember his smile when he would score with his back knuckle or a kick to the head. He was a gentle giant giant who had perfect control with his techniques.
My sincere sympathy to all who mourn his loss, especially his daughter who was the ecerything of his life.
I am a better man for having known Bill and I thank the Universe for the times we had together!

This is so sad. I knew Bill for many years. He changed the locks on our house and we shared many memories and conversations. I remember Bill always talking about his family and his daughter. The planet is a better place because of Bill and it is sad to think of Bill not being here. Our thoughts are with his family.

It was a pleasure to know Bill. I knew him for many years at the Digital/Compaq/HP building, and he was the most wonderful, kind human being. It was always a treat to see him in the hallway and get to stop and visit with him. He always had a great attitude, and was friendly to everyone. I don't think I ever saw Bill without a smile on his face. He was such a good hearted, kind person. And as I recall, so very proud of his daughter. I'm happy he was a part of my life over there at the DEC/Compaq/HP facility. He brightened my day so many days.
