William was my cousin and he was like a big brother to me. One of my fondest memories is from when I was about four, he took me to the movies and I promptly chose the biggest peppermint stick at the concessions stand. Of course by the end of the movie I was covered in sticky candy, it was even in my hair. Before taking me home to my mother (his aunt) he took off his undershirt, wet it in the water fountain, and attempted to clean me up. Later on when I was a teenager and he was a graduate student at LSU he spent a lot of time at my home. I always enjoyed his wry sense of humor. He took me to a coffee shop (a big occurrence to me) and I still remember a message to "Elena" on the wall: "Goodbye. The stars now embrace you." So this is my goodbye to you. You may have preferred to be addressed as William but you'll always be "Billy Becker" to me. I wish I had keep in better touch with you in recent years.
