William Boyle Obituary

William Drummond Boyle, Jr. (Bill) passed away on June 2, 2014 at the age of 64 in Monument, CO.

Bill was born in Natick, Massachusetts on February 20, 1950 to the late William and Dell Boyle. He graduated from Natick High School in 1968 and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado to attend the Air Force Academy.

He met his late wife Patricia Quinn in 1970 whom he later married in 1974. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Bill had tremendous love and pride in his family, and was devoted to his daughters and grandchildren who were the pure joy of his life. He always had an interest in planes and had hoped one day to return to flying. He enjoyed the beauty of hiking, fishing and camping in Colorado with his family and friends. In addition, he enjoyed a productive and successful career in marketing. His trademark quick wit and sense of humor kept us laughing, and his indomitable spirit will remain an inspiration to us all.

He is survived by his daughters Katherine Schimmel and Cassidy Hapke of Colorado Springs, Colorado, sisters Jane Sergeant of Monument, Colorado, and Ann Rubino of Prospect, Connecticut, and brother Tom Boyle of Evansville, Indiana. Bill also had a loving family of nieces and nephews. Grandchildren Kamryn and Rylan Schimmel loved their Patah Bill very much. Bill's large extended family and many wonderful friends loved him and will miss him dearly.

A celebration of his life will be held at Hillside Gardens, 1006 South Institute Street, Colorado Springs on June 19th, 2014 at 6pm. Casual attire with socks and sandals encouraged.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80906.

Dear Family and Friends,
My deepest sympathies on Bill's passing. Bill was a good friend, Academy classmate, and squadron comrade. I had forgotten we were born on the same day and were both natives of Massachusetts. I'm sorry we lost touch after our time at the AFA. I know he will be missed and my prayers are with you all.

I was deeply saddened when I learned of Bill's passing, we were good friends through high school and college. My wife and I with our family took a number of cross country trips during the late 80's and early 90's and some of our fondest memories of those trips are of visiting Bill and his family in Colorado Springs. During his college years and when I first moved back to Natick I often visited his folks on Cottage Street to catch up on his life, those times visiting his folks are some of my fondest memories of his family. I will always treasure how they invariably welcomed me into their home. Unfortunately I lost track of he and his family some time ago though I frequently thought of them. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
