William "Bill" Brewer Jr

October 13, 1938

January 20, 2022

Wiliam Floyd Brewer, Jr. of Colorado Springs- Beloved husband and father "Bill" departed this world peacefully, surrounded by family on January 20th, 2022. He was 83.

Bill is survived by the love of his life Esther- wife and partner for more than 64 years, and his sisters Sharon Dodge and Bonnie Namenuk- both of Madras, Oregon.

Additionally, his children Daniel Brewer and daughter-in-law Norma and his son David- all of Colorado Springs; His daughter Ruth Kronberg and son-in-law Pete of Centennial. He is pre-deceased by his oldest daughter Sarah "Sally" Smith, of Grand Junction.

Bill is also survived by his grandchildren Bethany Smith Williams and her husband Scott, Rachel Smith, Tim Smith and his wife Alisha- all of Grand Junction; Rebekah Brewer, of Denver and Evan Brewer, of Newark Delaware.

Bill married Esther Sarah Meyer on August 4, 1958 in Redmond Oregon where they both are originally from.

He served in the U.S. Air Force as a radio repairman from 1956 to 1962. Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the service, Bill owned and managed an inherited farm in Madras, Ore. for 6 years. He was successful in growing mint and potatoes.

It was during this time that the Brewers grew in their Christian faith, to the point at which they were inspired to give up farm life, and to instead begin their own Christian ministry as self-funded missionaries to Central and South America.

The couple first attended Bethany Bible College, in Santa Cruz, Ca in 1968 before embarking on an intrepid journey of faith as field Christian missionaries (with their 4 small children in tow), traveling by van from the U.S. to Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Argentina.

They returned from the mission field to the U.S. in 1974, settling in Colorado Springs, Co, continuing their mission work via "La Voz del Cielo" ministry- again, this was self-funded.

To make ends meet, the couple began working in market research, eventually starting their own firm- Springs Research Center that they operated successfully until retiring in 2005.

Mission work continued to be the cornerstone of the couple's labors; they ran a food pantry out of their home, and also delivered 'Care and Share' food necessities to the Aspen Mines Center in Cripple Creek, Co to support the indigent and elderly in the area for more than 30 years.

Bill and Esther were recognized and honored for their charitable work, receiving the Good Samaritan Award from Teller County in 2014.

Bill's labors of charity were interspersed with travel adventures via cruise ship, which he enjoyed quite often and in the company of his beloved Esther.

William Floyd Brewer, Jr. will long be remembered as a man of great faith and conviction; a philanthropist and servant of God, attending Radiant Church and Assembly of God regularly for more than 40 years.
