William Brown Obituary

William "Bill" Thomas Brown, 89, passed away after a fall.

In 1950 Bill met Dorothy "Dottie" Sommer. They married and raised three children: Kathleen, David and Cynthia.

He served 27 years in the US Armed Forces; Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4) 1943-1948, Air Force Tech Sergeant (E-6) 1952-1968 and Army Chief Warrant Officer (CW2) 1968-1972.

Upon retirement in 1972 and completing real estate training he joined Weidman & Company where he attained Million Dollar Club sales and later became Sales Manager. Once Weidman & Company closed Bill and Dottie ventured into real estate investments for 12 years, acquiring 21 houses at their peak. Divesting real estate investments, Bill supported Dottie's entrepreneurial dream of opening stores in Old Colorado City; Our Favorite Place gift store, The Molly Kathleen Boutique and side investments in Longhorn cattle breeding. Seven years later Dottie attained recognition when her bull "Jet Jockey" won Longhorn World Championship.

Dottie and Bill ran store and investment operations for ten years until Dottie's health began to decline, forcing divesture and focusing on health issues. Bill attended to his wife, Dottie, of 57 years who passed in 2007.

In 2009 Bill met Diane Whitlock who together shared companionship and laughter until his passing in 2017.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Shrine of Remembrance, "America the Beautiful" Chapel. Inurnment will take place at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Freedom Columbarium.
