William Dougherty Obituary

Dougherty Jr
WILLIAM E DOUGHERTY JR
1947 - 2021
The most wonderful husband to Sharon for 49 years. Born in Pennsylvania and settled in Colorado in 1972. He was proud to be an Air Force Veteran and long time manager for Mt. Bell, Qwest and CenturyLink for 35 years. He retired at 55 to enjoy his family and so many good friends.
He lost his life, never his charm to the Coronavirus.
Bill loved learning and received his Bachelors and Masters degrees Summa Cum Laude in Business Administration from Regis University.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and showed all who knew him how to enjoy life to the fullest. There wasn't a person he met that he didn't leave an impression on with his charismatic nature.
He will continue to be a positive, shining light to his family and friends. He is survived by his brother, John Dougherty, his sister, Joanne Dougherty, wife Sharon, son Shaun, daughter Shannon, and granddaughters Aspen and London Dougherty.

Saddened to hear the loss of Doc. It was a privilege to work with him for so many years. He always spoke highly of his family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

A great man, and a good friend.

I got to know Bill (Doc) working for the same company as he did. Our friendship continued after we both retired each of us exchanging emails and periodically meeting for coffee. He impressed me as one who stood out from the crowd, was never afraid to say what was on his mind and would back you up 100%. I know that he reigns in heaven above with Jesus his Lord and Savior. Doc, I am proud to have been one of your friends! Huck

Our family was blessed beyond words by Bill and his family. They opened their home to us every Christmas for years, showering us with gifts and dinner when I was a single mother of three. One year Bill drove across town in a blizzard to get us for the event. He was a big man with a big heart for whom love meant action. I am saddened beyond words.
