William Dwayer Obituary

LTC William Melvin Dwayer, 75, passed away at his home on December 23, 2010. He was born to Melvin A. and Anna B. Dwayer on December 1st, 1935. His parents and his sisters, Sally and Carol, preceded him in death. He is survived by his former wife, Barbara, his daughters Patricia Dwayer Phillips and Kathleen Ramseyer, his son William Eric Dwayer, and his grandchildren, Blake and Erika Ramseyer and Elanor Phillips. He loved his family, his God, and his country. He was justly proud of his 22 years of service in the United States Army, which included two combat tours in Vietnam. After retirement, he enjoyed a quiet life, reading voraciously. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (3122 Poinsetta Dr, Colorado Springs, CO) on January 12th at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations to Bill's preferred charities: St. Mary's High School (2501 E. Yampa St, Colorado Springs, CO, 80909), Loyola Blakefield High School (PO Box 176, Baltimore, MD 21298-8261), your local Catholic school, or your local chapter of the American Red Cross.

Patricia and family,
I just want to send my condolences to you again. I never met William but I heard many stories. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I think of you as my extended family and I know how hard it is to lose someone you loved. I have given Patricia hugs enough to share with all of you. May God's love wrap you all in his arms over these next few days and continue to bless you in the coming year.
Love to you all,
Tracy and Jeff Borst and family
