William (Bill) Gillette , a beloved member of Colorado Springs community , passed away on December 7, 2025 . He was born on June 24 , 1932 in Matamoras Pa . William was a dedicated member of the El Paso County Sheriff Posse organization, where he served with honor and distinction .
After marrying his beloved wife June in 1951 , William and June raised two boys , William and Jon . William(Bill) was a loving father and grandfather, with a total of 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren .
In addition to his family , William had a successful career in the Air Force , reaching the rank of Senior Master Sergeant . He dedicated 24 years of his life serving his country and was respected by all who knew him .
One of Williams passions was hunting and he spent many happy hours in the great outdoors . He also had a love for classic cars and could often be found tinkering in his garage on weekends . William Gillette will be remembered for his dedication to his community , his love for his family , and his commitment to serving his country . He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him .

If you would like help with any matters related to casualty assistance, Defense Finance & Accounting Service, Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP), Veterans Affairs (VA), etc. you can contact our office on Buckley SFB at 720-847-6693 or [email protected]. The RAO is staffed by volunteers, all military retirees themselves, and our sole purpose is to provide assistance to any military retirees and surviving spouses/family members with anything related to their military service and/or benefits, in particular during difficult times such as this. We are deeply sorry for your loss.
