William Haynes Obituary

William Haynes, age 78, bornSeptember 25, 1932 in Temple, TX, passed away October 28, 2010. Graduated from Denison University on a football scholarship in 1956. An avid sportsman who played football and coached, taught tennis. Entered the USAF in 1957 retiring in 1978, serving 23 years as a pilot and commander. After retirement he was an Executive housekeeper for three major hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada. A Gideon who loved the Lord serving Him with his singing as soloist in quartets, choirs and drama. He was preceded in death by his parents Anna and Mark Haynes, sister Mary Louis James, nephew Steven Taylor. He is survived by his wife Mairlyn, two children, Elizabeth Hirschfield, Dr. John Haynes, Jr., 3 stepchildren, Larry Johnson, Ray Johnson, Mary Colletti; 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a sister Anna Taylor, several nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held March 5, 2011 at 11:00am, Fellowship of the Rockies, 1625 S. 8th Street, Colorado Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideon's or Fellowship of the Rockies Building Fund.
