He married his best friend Marilyn Herzig May 26, 1956 in Springfield, Illinois. From this union three children were born. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1970. Bill served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. His tour of duty was in Korea. Bill worked as a tool and die maker in Sycamore, Illinois for many years. He retired from Hewlett Packard in 1996. After retiring, he and Marilyn enjoyed many RV adventures throughout the states and Canada. A favorite place for the whole family is their cabin in the mountains filled with special memories. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Minnie Hendron and brother Jimmy. He is survived by his wife Marilyn and children: Tori (Rod) Bartels, Jeff Hendron, Janie Maclachlan, nine grandchildren: Bill, Tasha, Stephani, Clynt, Staci, Tahlia, Jeremy, Fiona, and Aidan, seven great grandchildren, his sister Ruby and brother Chuck, brother-in-law Bob and his wife Helene as well as many nieces and nephews. As his mother-in-law Irene said, "If Bill can't fix it, it's not broken." At Bill's request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E. We haven't seen Bill in many years but we always enjoyed the family's friendship when living in Cragmor. May the family be comforted with peace with the loss of this loving man.

"Daddy Bill" was the nickname I had for Bill when I was a kid. He and Marilyn always so graciously opened their home and family to me. It was one of my favorite and "safest" places to be and Bill never failed to give us plenty of reasons to smile. Thanks for the love and laughter, Bill. You will truly be missed! With love-

My husband and I were only around Bill a couple of times but meeting both Bill and Marilyn I understood why they raised such caring, loving, and devoted children. It always made me laugh when he would request Minnie (the dog) to be included in all of Rod & Tori's visits to Colorado. I hope all of you know our thoughts and prayers are with every one of you. Hold tightly to your memories and cherish them. May God Bless You!

I wanted to give the family my condolences and send them my prayers. I never meet Bill, but if he's anything like his son Jeff, he was an outstanding and caring person.

We have been neighbors of Bill and Marilyn since 1995, they were the first ones to welcome us to the neighborhood. On summer evenings, Bill and Marilyn would sit on their front porch, and many neighbors wandered over to talk with them, they welcomed anyone to sit and chat. We will miss seeing Bill outside his home working on his vehicles, shoveling snow, playing host to passers by. He was always busy with something. He always expressed his concern for my husband, Donald, who is waiting for a liver transplant. The last time I spoke with Bill, he and Marilyn were on their front porch, I had just lost a brother and my mother, they both comfortd me. He was going thru alot but was only concerned about others. We look forward to summer evenings with Marilyn, we will miss Bill greatly.
