Robert Spencer Obituary

SPENCER, ROBERT L. SR., 81, of Elizabeth, IN, passed from this life on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Bowling Green Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. He was a retired electrician for the old Keller's Furniture Co. in Corydon, IN, a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and an Army Veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances Spencer; a son, Robert Lee Spencer Jr.; and a granddaughter, Chasity Nicole Harrison. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Margie Williams; a son, William Spencer (Judy); daughters, Marilyn Miller (Ron), Phyllis Caskey (Jim), Margie Robertson (Joe), and Joyce Brookshire (Terry); a brother, John Spencer Jr. and daughter-in-law, Rose Spencer; 24 grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. A Mass of celebration for Mr. Spencer will be held noon Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1406 E. Washington St., with burial to follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY. Visitation will be at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd., 2-8 p.m. Monday. Online memorial: www.mem.com
