William "$2 Bill" B. Kirwan, Jr.
Born April 30, 1929 in Chicago, IL. Bill was 95 when he passed on March 24, 2025 in Colorado Springs, CO.
Predeceased by his parents, Electra Ann (Webb), William B. Kirwan, Sr.; brothers, Donald O. and Harry T. Kirwan; sister, June (Kirwan) Graham; granddaughter, Brittany S. Byrnes; son, Timothy W. Kirwan; daughter, Deborah J. (Kirwan) Bonifas; wife of 45 years, Jean M. (Nunneley) Kirwan.
Bill served 30 years in the USAF retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1979 in Colorado Springs, CO. He then worked 10 years at the USPS.
He lived vivaciously through adventures and explorations around the world. Along with Jean, they visited 45+ countries, their favorites being Ireland, The South Island of New Zealand, and of course England, Jean's homeland.
Another passion of Bill's was driving and collecting classic cars, including a 1974 Fiat 600D, 1974 VW Karmann Ghia,1973 Mercedes 300SD, and his favorite, a 1977 VW Camper Van.
During his retirement Bill started a tradition of handing out new $2 bills as a thank you for good service, good deeds, or just to put a smile on a face.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Kristi L.; sons, William R. (Dawn), Patrick A. (Terri), Sean D. (Lisa); granddaughter, Kimberly M. (Brynes) (Anthony) Stanfield; grandsons, Maxwell and Fischer Kirwan and Kirwan Bonifas; great grandsons, Jaxon and Kias Stanfield, and lots of nieces and nephews he dearly loved.

Chief was one of the first people Jerrit and I met when we got to England. Then I was fortunate enough to get one of those 2 dollar bills he was known for. He always had great stories and was a joy to be around. This world will be a little less joyful without Two Dollar Bill. Rest easy my friend. We will miss you forever...Ang and Jerrit.xoxo

God speed my dear friend. Served with Bill in England and Colorado Springs. Bill and Jean were at our Wedding in London in 1970. He will be missed. We kept in touch as I talked to him two days before he passed. Lots of great memories will keep him in my mind. Condolences to his family.
