William Laughlin Obituary

William was born to Harold and Forestine Laughlin in Ft. Scott Kansas, as an only child. He attended grade school in Pleasanton and Ft. Scott, Kansas. He graduated from Ft. Scott High School and entered the University of Kansas and graduated with a degree in business in 1958. He received a commission in the U.S. Army and entered as a 2LT. He was stationed at Ft. Benning, GA and Ft. Riley, KS. In 1960, he married Sue Bye from Kansas City and they had 54 wonderful years together and two children. Bill was a mortgage banker in business for many years. He enjoyed hunting, especially ducks, fishing and sailing. He also loved traveling all over the world, especially Scotland and Mexico. Bill was a member of the North Colorado Springs Rotary Club, the Rising Sun Lodge of Ft. Scott, the Ft. Scott Scottish Rite and the Al Kaly Shrine. He is survived by his wife, Sue; daughter, Laurie Sue Mackay of Houston; son, Clifford Scott Laughlin of Colorado Springs; granddaughter, Erin Mackay of Houston, and grandson, Roger Mackay and his wife, Monica, of Colorado Springs. Bill was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by family, neighbors and friends. Per his wishes a "Celebration of Life" will be held at a later date. Dear Sue, Laurie and Cliff:
I am so saddened to hear the news of your loss. It is truly a loss for many. Bill was always so kind and loving with a wonderful sense of humor! I will forever be grateful for the opportunities you and he gave me in my career, Sue; as well as your friendship throughout the years. I think of you all so often. If there is anything at all that I can do to help, please call. 320-444-2399. My heart goes out to you all.
