William Patterson Obituary

Born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on September 26, 1951 – Died February 21, 2017 in Colorado Springs.

William proudly served 22 years in the Army as a mechanic serving in Fort Carson, CO, Augsburg, Germany, Fort Stewart, GA, Neu Ulm, Germany, Savannah, GA & Camp Howze, Korea.

After the Army, he found his true calling as a bus driver, and bus para professional, for all the years until his death.

Mr. Bill recently took a new position as Head Youth Fishing Instructor for the man upstairs. Mr. Bill never met a fish he couldn't catch or baby he couldn't hold. He suffered from baby-itis all his life. He opened his heart to all children he came in contact with because nothing brought a smile to his face quicker. He often worked with special needs children and told countless stories of how precious they were. He has the unofficial record for being responsible for many a child's first fish.

Mr. Bill loved to make people laugh, including himself. His wit served him well and plastered smiles on a lot of faces. He also bled blue and orange as an avid Denver Broncos fan.

Survived by Nancy Patterson, 3 sons: Shane, Thomas and wife Susan & Jonathan, 2 brothers: Don and Dan, and 7 grandchildren: Sarah, Breann, Raven, Sean, Savannah, Mya & Izabella.

Services: Woodmen Valley Chapel, 8292 Woodmen Valley View, Colorado Springs, CO, 80908 on Thursday March, 2nd at 11:30am (viewing) & 12:30pm (service).

Burial: Friday March 3rd at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 1:00pm, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave. Denver, CO. 80236.
