Bill was born to Ruth Downing and William Harry Perry, and moved to Colorado Springs as a senior in high school. He graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1950 and married his sweetheart, Bev.
Bill graduated from CU Business School in Boulder, then entered into banking in Colorado Springs. He retired from banking as President of East Bank. He then started a second career in commercial real estate with Weichert Associates.
Bill was an avid skier and fly fisherman. He also enjoyed camping and traveling.
Bill and Bev adopted three children and raised them together until Bev's passing in 2001. Bill then remarried Amilu Stewart, MD in 2007.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jim. He is survived by his children, Suellen, Karyn, and David; his stepchildren, Joe, Bill, Beth, and Anne; 12 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren & step-grandchildren; and his wife, Amilu Stewart, MD.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Bill's name to First Lutheran Church, 1515 N Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO.
Services will be held on December 16, 2025 at 11am at First Lutheran Church, with a lunch at the church to follow.

Bill and I were the best of friends for over 60 years to Bill and his family. He helped me with my business needs,we skied ,played tennis and golf for many years . He was a straight forward honest man to all his many friends. He will be missed by all.

I was sorry to learn of Bill's passing. Hank, Bill and Bob who along with myself were employed by CS National and started the East Bank on the east side of CS in a trailer. It was this experience that made me fall in love with banking. I married a GI and moved to Ca where I had a 39 year career in banking as one of the first woman to be a member of the corporate lending side of the bank which was predominantly a male fraternity, My experience with those 3 men especially Bill instilled my love for banking. I thank him for that mentorship. My prayers are with his family his wife-Amilu, children, stepchildren and grandchildren.
