Preceding him in death were Christopher (Ned) Pfeiffer and Sue Pfeiffer Daniels. Bill attended Colorado College as a freshman in 1942, and then served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was stationed on Peliliu Island in the South Pacific when the war ended in 1945. In 1946 he resumed his studies at Colorado College, graduating Cum Laude in 1949. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, the ASCC Council, the Red Lantern Club, the CC track team, and student body President in 1948-49. After college he became a broker with the Harris Upham brokerage house in Colorado Springs. The firm was later bought out by Blyth and Company. He retired in 1991. Bill was involved in many business and community affairs including the Pikes Peak United Fund, the Sierra Club, and the Citizen's Water Council. In addition he was an avid skier, backpacker, and golfer throughout his life. In the mid-1960s he joined four other partners in managing the ski area on Pikes Peak. The "Ski in the Sky" area was open on weekends when there was adequate snow. Bill's family celebrates his life and his ideals and finds inspiration in his love of nature and the mountains.
