William Smith Obituary

William W. Smith was born to the late Walter and Rebecca Peace Smith, on April 6, 1932 in Portsmouth, VA. He was saved and become a member of the Pamphilia Church of God in Bridgeton, NJ. He served as a deacon at Pamphilia and received his ministerial license from Church of God, Cleveland, TN. He was also a member of the USAF during this time. He was called to the ministry and Pastored his first church in Salem, NJ, his military career required him to transfer to various military sites around the world and finally retired after 20 years in Colorado and established the Royer Street Church of God, and later the Full Gospel Church of God. He attended Bridgeton High School in Bridgeton, NJ. He attended the Nazarene Bible College, and continued his education at International Bible Institute and Seminary in Plymouth, Florida, graduating in August 1987 with a Bachelors degree in Bible Theology. Pastor Smith, age 79, was called to be with the Lord on the morning of November 25, 2011 at his Colorado Springs home. Pastor Smith enjoyed family, friends and his church members and the many souls that crossed his ministerial path. He is survived by his wife Muriel Robinson Smith, two sons Robin E. Smith and Terence A. Smith, tow daughters Tamar R. Taylor and Genise F. Laster their spouses and his sister Bessie Mae Anderson, several grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Herbert L. Smith of Bridgeton, NJ. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00pm Friday December 2,2011, Angelus Funeral Directors, 1104 S. Circle Dr. Funeral Services 10:00am Saturday December 3, 2011, Full Gospel Church of God, 811 S. Meade. Interment Evergreen Cemetery with full Military Honors by Peterson Air Force Honor Guard.
