Having worked with Bill when the AAR Tech Center was in Chicago and discussed railroad engineering issues with him on occasion since, I have fond recollections of humor supplemented conversations even when the topic was quite serious. Bill will be greatly missed by all in the railroad testing community. We at CTLGroup offer our heartfelt condolences.

To the Sneed Family,
I miss my Bud. I miss my best friend. I'll miss his laughter. We met at Purdue Univ (1971) and never looked back. We were family. I can't express the emotions I felt when I heard of his passing but soon sorrow turned to joy. He's with God now. No better place to be. Keep the faith and God will carry you thru. We have his memories.
Our sincere condolences,

To Christopher and Tracy,
Your Dad made a lot of friends with his easy smile and hearty laugh but for me it was another side that mattered most. One day, eight years after I had last worked with Bill, I found myself in need. My wife and I were separated at that time and I needed to talk. I stopped by unannounced and Bill talked with me as though we were brothers. Of course God was part of the discussion but Bill didn’t preach to me. He mostly listened and then offered encouragement and a brief prayer. That was four years ago and I never stopped to talk to Bill in the happier days that followed, but I was blessed with the sure knowledge that if I needed him he would find the time.
The world is now short of a man’s man, and we will be hard pressed to fill in the gaps where Bill used to stand. May God bless and keep you as you face these hard days.

Dear Ms. Addie Sneed,
Our church member and your friend, Mary Turner, called my attention to the passing of your son, William Hillary Sneed. She mentioned that you had relocated to Colorado recently and were with William and his family before God call him to Himself. I remember the excitement when you were preparing for William's marriage to Geneva, and meeting your grandchildren. God will continue to bless you, even in this time of sorrow. Please greet all your family for me. And know that all your friends and all the parishioners at SS. Monica & Luke will keep you and your family in our prayers. Peace. Father Pat Gaza

I've worked with Bill for four years in my role as a consultant to TTCI. Every time my phone rang and Bill said hello, I smiled. Bill was the kind of person who put smiles on people's faces--and he always wore one himself. I will miss him.

To the Sneed family
STAR Academy K-8 Charter School board of directors and staff send our condolences to the Sneed family and friends. We share in your loss. Bill Sneed was an exceptional advocate for our school. Bill was one of those very passionate individuals who believed that a perpetual cycle of poorly educated children grow to become poorly educated adults who, in turn increase the rolls of Americans living in poverty.

To reverse that trend he became part of the solution by being activist for the charter school concept. Bill led the 2003-2004 Charter School Working Group that advocated for authorizing a charter academy in Colorado Springs school district eleven. Bill Sneed’s hard work resulted in our successful award of a 5-year charter the following year.

The Space, Technology and Arts (STAR) Academy is a modern air conditioned 31000 sq. ft. facility, with 18 classrooms, washroom facilities, an all-purpose room – gym with stage, full functioning kitchen and a paved outdoor playground. We are fulfilling Bill’s and the founding board’s dream of creating a learning center for an expected 450 (current pop. 250) k-8 students who, because of enhanced education, will become lifelong learners in core academics, arts and science technology, equipped to break the poverty cycle.

We are forever thankful that Bill was part of our lives and our school’s forming.

May he rest in peace.

In my nearly 7 years working with Bill at the AAR-CTC, we always had a laugh. After leaving the AAR, I enjoyed running into Bill at industry events around the country, and again we'd laugh. Bill was a good, honest, and pleasant person to be around. He will be missed. My condoleces to the family.

I would like to express my condolences on the passing of your father. He was an awesome man of God who loved his family dearly. But it brings joy to the heart to know that he is partaking of his inheritance in the kingdom, for to be absent from the body means to be present with the Lord. God Bless You and praying for you.

Bill was a wonderful person with a big heart and a wonderful smile. I first worked with Bill 23 years ago, and in that time I grew to respect Bill as a kind, gracious and caring individual. Bill had many friends in the freight railroad research and test community across the US and Canada, and all were blessed to work with, and to know Bill. The Technical Standards group at TTCI will miss him greatly. I personally will miss our near daily discussions on engineering issues, as well as our frequent discussions on our political and spiritual beliefs. Bill is in good hands now. My condolences to the family.
