William Sockriter III Obituary

William S. Sockriter, 71, of Colorado Springs, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 14, 2013. Born in Cape May, NJ, William was retired from Young Life, a Christian ministry, where he worked for 16 years. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend who was active in his church and devoted his life to serving the Lord. He was born January 17, 1942 to William S. Sockriter Sr. and Ethel East Sockriter. He attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA in 1960 and graduated from the Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO in 1983. William married Ruth Marion Myers, August 24, 1963 in Cape May, NJ. He and Ruth moved to Colorado Springs, CO in 1980 from New Jersey. Survivors: 1 son, William S. Sockriter, III; 1 daughter, Faith C. Bone; 1 brother, Richard Sockriter; 2 sisters, Betty Cordes and Eugena Newell; and 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Ruth. Contributions may be made to Young Life, 420 N. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs, CO. or Springs First Church of the Nazarene.
