William Thomas Obituary

William P “Bill� Thomas peacefully passed away January 22, at his home in Rockrimmon. He was born February 18, 1928 in Denver, Colorado and attended East High School in Denver, participating in both sports and band. Bill achieved his Degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Colorado at Boulder as a member of the Phi Sigma Delta fraternity. Bill served in the Army, both in the occupation of Japan and the Korean conflict. During his retirement years in Colorado Springs, he was a leader in many ways; 15 years counselor with SCORE (Service Corp of Retired Executives); 10 years with the American Cancer Society, Prostate Cancer Task Force; plus other volunteer leadership positions in Teller and El Paso Counties. Bill shared his life with his wife, Jeanne, of 35 years. He is survived by her as well as a daughter, Kathy Lynn Thomas; son, Rian Thomas; step-son, Eric Christianson; two grandchildren; and his sister, Betty Emeson of Colorado Springs, her husband Martin and children Laurie Steuri, David Emeson, Mindy Morrisey, and Brian Emeson. Memorial service will be held at Swan Law Funeral Director's, 501 N. Cascade Ave, in Colorado Springs, on Saturday, February 6, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation with family immediately will follow.
