Yolanda Eldred Obituary

Resident of Orinda
On Saturday June 7th Yolanda Eldred passed peacefully from the world she loved so much into the arms of her Savior. Yolanda died exactly as she wanted, at home, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. Yolanda and her husband Dr. James Eldred moved from NY to San Francisco for Jim's internship in 1950 and then to Orinda in 1955, where Yolanda and her six children became the quintessential Orinda Park Pool family.
Yolanda is fondly remembered for her passion for cooking and feeding family and friends; for her raising champion Bouviers; for her decades-long, unwavering attendance at Shakespeare plays at the Bruns Theater in the Orinda Hills; and for her enduring love of opera.
Yolanda is survived by her children Mary Lee Loughman, Dina Fiatarone, Juliet Montagnon, Jim Eldred, and Roxanne Wieber; by her grandchildren Maria, Carlo, Jimmy, Annalisa, and Gianni Fiatarone; Travis and Denver Schaffarzick; Carmen and Michael Montagnon; and Brenna and Ryan Wieber; and by her great-grandchildren Damian, Tanner, and Caleb. Yolanda is predeceased by her husband, Col. W. James Eldred MD, F.A.C.S., and by her son Charles.
There will be a Rosary, 7:00 pm, Thursday June 12th at OAK PARK HILLS CHAPEL, 3111 N. Main St., Walnut Creek and Funeral Mass at Santa Maria Church in Orinda on Saturday June 14th at 10:00am, preceeded by visitation at 9:30 am. There will be a reception at the Eldred home at 7 Via Farallon, Orinda at 2:00pm.

I am conscious it's quite late to express you my sorrow about the death of your mother, but I've just read she passed away two months ago.
Plenty of images filled at once my head, specially when she used to begin to cook with her coat on her shoulders for tne evening meal.
Your mom and your dad formed a fantastic couple, loving their children and sharing a christian life with so many people, even with a Young french student. Thank you my american mom.
