Zebedee Smith Obituary

Zebedee Alton Smith, age 72, passed away September 24, 2005. Mr. Smith was a Colorado Springs resident for over 50 years. Zebedee was born on September 21, 1933 in Plymouth, North Carolina to the late William and Betty (Bell) Smith. Zebedee joined the U.S. Army and served his country proudly in 1959. Zebedee was married to the late Mildred (Franks) Smith and together they had one child. Mr. Smith was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He retired from the Air Force Academy and worked in civil services as a food inspector. Zebedee was a member of the Masonic lodge and was also an honorary member of the Policeman's Association. Zebedee is survived by his daughter, Dora Eddington and son, Mario Perser. He is also survived by his brother, Berlin Smith of Plymouth, North Carolina; four grandchildren: Angela Perser of Plymouth, North Carolina; Mario Perser II of Hampton, Virginia; Marlon L. Perser of Hampton, Virginia; and Henry Jackson Jr. of Akron, Ohio. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday October 4, 2005 at Friendship Baptist Church 633 East Dale Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Interment will follow starting at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
