Pam was a 1967 graduate of Erskine College where she earned a degree in elementary education. She also obtained a Masters Degree in early childhood development from Coastal Carolina University. She began her career as an elementary school teacher in Charlotte, NC. She later found her calling at All Saints Episcopal Church in Pawleys Island where she served as Director of Children's Ministry/Children's Church. Miss Pam used her God given vision to design and build unique children's worship centers. Pam was well known for her passion and creativity in facilitating/building an environment for children to thrive, learn and connect with Jesus. From creative puppet shows and original bible skits to building elaborate sets for youth performances, she engaged members of all ages in the children's program.
Her creative mind and independent spirit was always evident. She was admired for her talents as an artist, painter, interior designer, birthday party planner, aerobics instructor, clothes designer, jewelry maker, master knitter and top notch chef. Pam loved to sew, cook and bake, always with her unique touch. She was not known to do anything "plain" as she liked to say. She rarely dabbled in her tasks and was in constant pursuit of perfection. Nothing delighted her more than sharing her creations with others.
Later in life, she enjoyed spending time on her porches talking with her birds, enjoying her oak trees, laughing and having porch therapy with friends and family.
She loved the Pawleys Island community where she lived for almost 40 years and especially held dear her close neighborhood friends in the Oak Lea Community, women's bible study and exercise classes at the Pawleys Island YMCA. She was a beautiful and loving wife, mother and friend to many. A celebration of her life will be held at the Chapel at Pawleys Island Community Church on July 19, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
