Christi Squier

May 9, 1958 - March 31, 2025

Christi Suzanne Squier, age 66, of Overland Park, KS, passed away after a long illness in which her sister, Lloydette, was at her side assisting her with her battle until she succumbed on Monday, March 31, 2025, with her family at her side in the comfort of her home. Christi was born on May 9, 1958, in Osage, IA, to Lloyd and Janet Zieman. She graduated from Rockford Senior High in 1975. She went on to graduate from North Iowa Area Community College with an Associate of Nursing Degree.

Christi was united in marriage to Gerald D. Squier of Osage on May 31, 1975. They spent their first year in Germany, then they moved back to make Osage their home. They later moved to St. Ansgar, IA, where she worked at Mercy Hospital finding her love for working with newborns full-time. She also worked part-time at the St. Ansgar Post Office. In 1986 they moved to the state of Florida, where she continued her education and worked full-time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Tampa Bay General Hospital. She achieved her master's degree and became a nurse practitioner. She moved to the Olathe/Overland Park, KS, area in 1992, where she was part of a nurse practitioner group servicing Children's Mercy Hospitals, Overland Park Regional Hospital, Providence Hospital, and Menorah Medical Center.

Christi worked hard but took time to enjoy life. She loved to spend time with her family, traveling by going on cruises, and to Christian conferences with family and friends.

Christi is survived by her husband, Gerald Squier of almost 50 years; brother, John (Charlotte) Zieman; sisters, Lloydette Zieman, Zelda (Matthew) Hoveland; brother, Mark Zieman; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Raymond Zieman.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 2 p.m., at The Bridge Church in Charles City, IA. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
