Marie Mann Stacy, a beloved resident of Hampton Bays, NY, passed away peacefully, at home, on May 15, 2024, at the age of 86. Marie was born in Birmingham, Alabama, where she spent her early years before her journey took her to the Rochester School of Music. It was there that she met the love of her life, Thomas Stacy. The couple shared an extraordinary bond and were married for 62 wonderful years until Thomas' passing in 2023. A talented musician, Marie played the double bass with the Rochester Philharmonic, Santa Fe Opera, New Orleans Symphony Orchestra, and Minnesota Opera Orchestra, before transitioning to a fulfilling career in special education within the Greenwich, CT school system. Her passion for helping others led her to inspire countless young minds. Later, she embarked on a successful career in banking with People's Bank, where she worked until her retirement. Marie was not only a dedicated professional, but also an avid golfer and runner, having participated in several marathons throughout her life. Her commitment to her community was evident through her active involvement in the Greenwich, CT Rotary Club, where she made lasting contributions and friendships. Above all, Marie was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. She is survived by her son, Barton, his wife Helen, and their children, Thomas and Ally, as well as her son, Phillip. Marie's warmth, generosity, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A Catholic Mass service was held to celebrate Marie's life.

Over 40 years ago, I walked into a Peoples Bank office looking for a loan to purchase my first house in Riverside. I met Marie Stacy, who immediately found a creative way to help me when mortgage interest rates were in double digits and qualifying for a loan was not that easy. . She eventually gave me a line of credit, which was unusual at the time, and that line of credit enabled me to purchase my home in Riverside. Over the years I would drop in just to say hello. I owed her a great deal and always will remember her: her smile, caring attitude and friendly disposition .Never knew that she was also such a talented musician!

I am so sorry to learn that both Marie and Tom had passed. I spent many wonderful hours on the golf course with Marie, and have missed her since their move to the Hampton.s. Please know I will hold them in my prayers.

What a great Person! Knew her from Dundee school, she was so nice at my age of 7 years old then at the bank for many years, then last time I saw her maybe 5 years ago when I worked for her and her husband. Beautiful home they had too. She will be missed. Condolences to the Family.
