Algon Grange Obituary

RALEIGH, N.C. – Algon George Grange, 101, formerly of Jamaica, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at Universal Healthcare in Raleigh. He was born in Blackstonedge, St. Ann, Jamaica on April 3, 1922, the son of the late George "Blazer" Grange and Doris "Granny" Dougal.

Affectionately known as "The General" to his family, Algon is survived by his wife, Monica Grange of CT; daughters, Allison Grange Thompson (husband, Ian) of NC, and Karlene Tyghter of FL; sons, Howard Grange of CT, Alton Grange of CT, Duckworth Grange of FL, Alden Grange (wife, Yolanda) of DE; daughters-in-law, Jean Grange of CT and Crystal Grange of NC, a host of siblings, other close relatives and friends. Algon's family will receive family and friends on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 10am-11am, followed by a celebration of life at 11am, at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Road, Windsor, CT.
