I think of you, Graham and family so often, especially around holiday times, beach weather. Jane & I often taught next to each other at USJ. Any student who had Jane as professor always told me she was their favorite teacher, everyone loved being in her presence. Laurette

Graham: George and I were shocked and saddened to hear of Jayne's passing. We did nt get the news until yesterday. We shared so many fun and happy memories in the early teaching, marriage, and children phases of ur lives. Jayne was a upbeat, happy, person with always a fun story to tell or experience to share. Many good times in Hartford and Rhode Island, too. God bless you and your family - I know she will be dearly missed.

Coach Martin my condolences to you and your family. Mrs. Martin was a person who would brighten your day just with her smile. She knew how to make us as students feel like we made a difference and that we mattered. Thank you for sharing her with us. She will truly be missed but her love and kindness lives on.

I am so saddened to hear about this loss. I was a student of Jane's at SJC and found her passion for teaching to be absolutely infectious. I have gone on to teach with students with a range of exceptionalities and have become a better teacher because of all I have learned from her. Jane had such a big heart and the joy she radiated touched so many lives, as is clear from the outpouring of love on this page. Her legacy will be felt for years to come as her love for teaching and learning is still being shared in hundreds of classrooms to thousands of children by her own students like myself. Jane will most surely be missed.

I am saddened by the loss of your lovely wife and mother - two titles she loved having. (And I am sure grandmother too as the years passed.) It was such shocking news. I will always remember the fun times we had with Louise and I will remember our Nursery School adventures. Graham, Kevin, Meg and Robert, my heart goes out to you. I will keep Jane and all of you in my prayers.

Professor Martin, or Jane as she liked to be called was an amazing teachers teacher. As one of her graduate students, I benefited from her rare expertise in special education. She taught us so much but it is her genuine kindness and humor that I continued to remember over the years. We so loved her stories about her children and grandchildren. The special Mothers Day necklace story is an all time favorite.
Jane was an exceptional human being- and I am a better mother, life-long learner and teacher for having the great fortune to have known and learned from her.
My heart goes out to the Martin family - thank you for sharing her with us.

Mrs. Martin had a way of always making me feel like I really mattered. Ill never forget how I felt to be invited to Kevins birthday party when I was 4 years old and just Pauls little sister to everyone else- she made me feel so included and welcome, and it meant so much to me- as an adult, I thanked her for that. Seeing her around Bulkeley always made me so happy- she was so warm, loving and vibrant. Mr. Martin, Kevin, Meg and Rob- my heart aches for you. This is such a devastating loss. We should all feel so proud of the effect Jane had on people and I doubt that a moment of her time on earth was ever wasted.

When I look at this photo of Gloria Jane, and the vibrant youth captured in her eyes and smile, I see the heart of Jane as I experienced her in the few fortunate encounters in Narragansett and Glastonbury. Jane had an effervescence about her that felt so welcoming and hospitable that once you met her you felt like she saw the best of you and and considered you a friend from the start. She had a big voice, a big laugh, a big smile and a big heart and for all of that and more she will be remembered well and missed ...but never forgotten. May she rest in peace in God's loving embrace and continue to shine a light by giving strength and spiritual guidance to all those she loved here on earth in their days without her presence. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends.

Jane was a colleague from the University of Saint Joseph who I enjoyed working with very much. She spent a lot of time in my office telling me funny stories about her children and later, her grandchildren. Family was her whole world and she dearly loved everyone. I will miss our long phone conversations, her sweet personality and her witty sense of humor. She was truly one of a kind and I'll never forget her.
In sympathy and love,

Dear Graham and Family:
Gone too soon! I first met the two of you in 1978 when I was a member of the Hartford Board of Education. I was immediately impressed with her extraordinary level of commitment and dedication to the students of Hartford and how the two of you went above and beyond for these children. My hear felt prayers and thoughts to you and your family.

Dear Graham and Family
It was heartbreaking to hear of Janes passing. As a former fellow Bulkeley educator, I had the honor and pleasure of working with Jane. She was committed to supporting the students that she served and her decisions supporting their growth was first and foremost. As Janes example, I carrry that same conviction in my current work as an administrator in Hartford.
However, I remember fondly our work together most when we were laughing and Janes laugh and humor could fill a room.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Fondly,
Alison Giuliano
