Howard C. Williams, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on February 28, 2025, at Adams Woodcrest of Decatur, Indiana. Born on August 5, 1941, in Adams County, Indiana, to the late Darrell and Garnett (Getty) Williams.
Howard had a remarkable career at BF Goodrich, where he dedicated 36 years of his life. He also proudly served in the US Army National Guard, although he was never activated. His commitment to his community extended beyond his professional life, as he was a lifetime member of the Case Collectors Club and a former member of the ABATE of Indiana and the NRA.
A man of many interests, Howard was particularly passionate about collecting knives, motorcycles, and bicycles. He found joy in repairing these items and had a keen interest in antique car shows and racing. Howard also delighted in capturing the beauty of life through photography, often focusing on covered bridges and trains.
Howard’s proudest accomplishment was his marriage to Judith Ann McBarnes, a union that began on June 16, 1962, at High Street United Methodist Church in Geneva, Indiana. Together, they created a loving home and raised three wonderful children.
He is survived by his daughters, Marsha (Richard) Shilling of Quinlan, Texas; Melissa (Eric) Gage of Decatur, Indiana; and son, Michael (Kelly) Williams of Decatur, Indiana. Howard was also the cherished grandfather of five grandchildren: Ashley (Angel) Flores of California, Meghan Secaur of Nevada, Zachary and Taylor Gage, and Jace Williams all of Decatur, Indiana. Additionally, he leaves behind three great-grandchildren: Abbie, Adam, and Angela Flores.
Howard is mourned by his family and friends, as well as those who had the privilege to know him. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judith Ann Williams; and a granddaughter, Karlie Williams.
