ALONZO JENKINS, 75, of Pedro, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026. He was born on October 5, 1950, to the late Vint and Evelyn Jordan Jenkins.
Alonzo was a proud Vietnam veteran who served honorably with the 101st Airborne Division, known as the Screaming Eagles. He carried his love for his country throughout his life and was deeply proud of his service.
On January 16, 1970, he married the love of his life, Goldie Robinson. Together, they shared a devoted marriage built on faith, love, and commitment, and raised a beautiful family. He was a loving father to Alonzo Scott (Marsha) Jenkins, Kathy Jo (Chris) Hall, and Jason (Sarah) Jenkins.
He was a proud and loving grandfather to Zac (Savannah) Jenkins, Nickolas Jenkins, Sydney (Tyler) Boggs, Hope Hall, and Faith Hall. He was also blessed with great grandchildren, Brayden, Jase, Legend, Calvin Jenkins, and Luna and Drucilla Boggs, who brought him great joy. Two special people Darrell Lee Carrico, and Carol Murrell.
Alonzo was preceded in death by his parents, Vint and Evelyn Jenkins; and his siblings Margaret Lucille Jenkins, Charles "Chalk" Jenkins, John Jenkins, Delpha Jenkins Bloomfield, and June Dale Jenkins.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Goldie Jenkins; his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and his loving siblings Barbara Bailey; George (Rosetta) Jenkins; Hazel (Jack) Donley, Clifford (Linda) Jenkins; Nancy (Ron Ridgeway)Hall; and Judy(Donnie) Bailey; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Alonzo was a hardworking, intelligent, and faithful man who loved history, his family, and his faith in God. He was known for his strength, his sense of humor, and his thoughtful nature. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was deeply loved by all who knew him.
His legacy of faith, love, service, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2026 at Tracy Brammer Monroe Funeral Home, 518 South 6th Street
Ironton, Ohio 45638 with Rev. Kenny Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Slab Fork Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Monday from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Military Rites will be provided by VFW Post 8850.
