Constance Ann Bennett Oakes, formerly of Decatur, passed away April 27, 2025, in Memphis, TN, at age 94. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Oakes. Surviving family members include her daughters Elizabeth Crowder and Margaret Oakes. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2025, at St. John's Episcopal Church. How sad to read of Mrs. Oakes' passing. She was my 4th grade teacher at Oak Grove School, best teacher I ever had. I will always remember her big smile and high spirit. She and Mr. Oakes were great family friends of ours. Praise the Lord for giving her a long life. Hope she and Mr. Oakes are reunited in Heaven.
