Donald Carruthers Obituary
Donald William Carruthers, 55, went home to be with the Lord May 28, 2015. Born and lived in Akron his entire life. Don loved fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Debbie of 35 years; daughter, Dawn (Ray); son, Tyson; grandchildren, Samantha, Ashleigh, Kylie, Ray Jr. and Jaysean; parents, Jack and Helen; brothers and sisters, Anita (Greta), Jack (Carol), Carol (Andrew), Bob (Aimee); in-laws, Cathy and Steven. He will also be missed by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home & Chapel, 760 E. Market St. on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be Tuesday, June 2 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home in Don's name.

To the Caruthers Family... Sending thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We lived just three doors up on Yager Rd. I have such wonderful memories of us kids playing in the barn and just around the neighborhood.

The Carruthers Family
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. When Don and I met, it was instant friendship, a friendship that would be surpassed by none. He was my best friend, my brother,he was my strength. When he passed, a part of me went with him.
I will always treasure the memories of our vacations and weekend fishing getaways.I will treasure the friendship that we had.
He will surely be missed by all the people that he came in contact with.
I love you and miss you, my friend and brother.

Don was my first real boyfriend when we were young teenagers and one of the sweetest guys I have ever met. My thoughts are with the entire Carruthers family at this very sad time.
