Ann Moser Obituary
December 18, 1940 - June 1, 2025
Cecilia Ann Broome Moser went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 1, 2025.
Born December 18, 1940 in Mocksville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Cecil William (Pete) Broome and Joan Alma McCall Broome.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jerry Donald Moser.
She moved to Hickory at an early age and was a lifelong resident there.
Ann graduated from Hickory High School in 1959. She attended Mars Hill College, Wingate College, and Lenoir College, where she ultimately received a Bachelors Degree in Education and a Bachelors Degree in Nursing.
Ann was an elementary school teacher and later a registered nurse in the emergency room at Catawba Memorial Hospital before becoming certified as a real estate agent and serving as the business manager for her husband's building business.
She was instrumental in starting two churches in the Hickory, NC area, Hickory Community Chapel and Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church. She was presently supporting the Rev. Tripp Castell in his current endeavor to establish a new church in Hickory. Ann was a faithful servant of the Lord, often offering hospitality to various overseas missionaries when they were home on furlough and supporting them in the field. She loved traveling with her husband Jerry, playing tennis and golf, as well as interior decorating.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons: David Shannon Moser and Mark McCall Moser and wife Marnie; and two grandchildren: Patrick Moser and wife Holly, and Sarah Moser; brother, William M. Broome and wife Linda; aunt, Louise Bishop; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held in the chapel at Bass-Smith Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, with the Rev. Tripp Castell officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 – 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
